Myler Black Steel 7" Seven Shank, MB 04 Low Port Comfort Snaffle, Level 2

The MB 04 is similar to the MB 02 in that it rotates on the tongue and applies tongue pressure. However, it features a small (¼") port that introduces tongue relief for the horse. This port allows the horse to swallow and move its tongue when moving forward and relaxed, acting as a release or reward.

The mouthpiece is curved, designed to wrap around the bars and lips instead of pinching. Additionally, the sweet iron mouthpiece oxidizes, encouraging salivation.

Key Features:

  • Independent Side Movement™
  • Sweet Iron mouthpiece
  • Curved mouthpiece does not pinch lips and bars
  • Copper Inlay
  • Black shank will discolor over time to an antique brown
  • Stainless steel dots

Notes:

The MB 04 is an excellent transition bit from Level One to Level Two, suitable for a wide range of horses:

  • Green horses
  • Experienced horses entering the Myler System
  • Horses ridden exclusively in single-jointed mouthpieces
  • Horses requiring re-schooling after not being ridden for a while

The Black Steel Seven Shank features a round black steel design in a “7” curve, with a ring purchase and a rein ring. The mouthpiece is fixed to the cheek with a decorative “stack,” and the entire shank moves independently of the mouthpiece. The purchase is slightly angled away from the cheek to prevent rubbing.

Specifications:

  • Size: 6 ¾" shank
  • Action: Indirect
  • Discipline: Western
  • Degree of Leverage: Mild to Moderate
